EMC and EMD

 

 

The Emergency Medicine Certificate (EMC) is a six month competency-based training program that is conducted in the workplace. Candidates are required to be working within an emergency department under the supervision of an approved ACEM Supervisor who has completed the Clinical Teaching Course.

The Emergency Medicine Diploma (EMD) is an 18 month competency-based training program that is conducted in the workplace.  Candidates are required to work 12 months in an emergency department under the supervision of an approved ACEM Supervisor. As part of the course candidates will be expected to undertake six months in an anaesthetics term or three months in anaesthetics and three months in ICU terms.
